What does the Ocean Reef iCOM communication system do?
The iCOM system enables full-duplex voice communication between divers wearing compatible Ocean Reef masks, and between divers and a surface station. Unlike hand signal communication, iCOM allows verbal direction, navigation instructions, and real-time safety information to be shared at depth. Commercial dive operations, underwater film crews, and guided dive experiences at complex sites use iCOM to enable communication that hand signals cannot support.
Can Ocean Reef masks be used with standard dive cylinders?
Ocean Reef masks use a standard low-pressure second stage connection compatible with all standard regulator configurations. The mask connects to a conventional first stage exactly as a standard second stage would - no proprietary cylinder, valve, or regulator first stage is required. Divers can use their existing regulator setup with an Ocean Reef second stage integrated into the full-face mask frame.
