The Anti-Fog Solution Every Diver Needs

Sea Gold has been solving the fogged mask problem since 1981 — and in four decades, nothing has come close to replacing it. One application before your dive creates a lasting anti-fog coating that works across a full dive, in tropical surface temperatures and cool thermoclines alike. Simple, reliable, essential.

Before Every Dive

Apply Sea Gold — Every Single Time

One application of Sea Gold gel before your dive prevents fogging for the entire dive — whether you're doing a 20-minute snorkel or an 80-minute deep dive. At this price point, there's no reason to ever dive with a fogged mask again.

Snorkelling

Sea Gold for Snorkellers

Snorkelling mask fogging is the most common reason people end a session early. Sea Gold's long-lasting anti-fog formula solves this permanently — giving snorkellers unobstructed clarity from first entry to final exit on Malaysia's reef snorkel sites.

Night Diving

Sea Gold on Night Dives

Temperature differences between the water and the air trapped in your mask make fogging more likely on night dives. Sea Gold's formula compensates for these conditions, delivering the same fog-free clarity after dark as it does in daylight.

Underwater Photography

Sea Gold for Underwater Photographers

A fogged mask mid-dive ruins photographs and kills concentration. Sea Gold is the simplest, cheapest pre-dive step an underwater photographer can take to protect every composition from the most avoidable interruption underwater.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know before making a purchase

What is Sea Gold and what does it do to a dive mask?
Sea Gold is an anti-fog gel applied to the inside of a dive or snorkel mask lens before entering the water. It creates a hydrophilic surface coating that causes water condensation to spread into a thin transparent film rather than forming the discrete droplets that scatter light and create fog. The result is a clear lens throughout the dive without the repeated clearing that foggy masks require.
Why do dive masks fog in the first place?
Mask fogging occurs when warm, humid exhaled air contacts a cooler lens surface - exactly the conditions inside a dive mask during a dive. The temperature differential causes moisture to condense. Without treatment, condensation forms droplets that scatter light, creating the hazy or completely opaque fogging that divers manage by flooding and clearing their mask mid-dive. An anti-fog treatment prevents droplet formation by making the lens surface attract water into a continuous sheet.
How is Sea Gold applied correctly?
Apply a small amount of Sea Gold gel to a clean, dry lens and spread it evenly with a fingertip across the entire inner lens surface. Then rinse lightly with water - do not wipe dry. A thin residual film of the treatment remains on the lens after rinsing, which is the active anti-fog layer. Wiping dry removes the treatment. Apply before each dive session for consistent performance throughout the day.
Is Sea Gold more effective than using saliva?
Sea Gold produces a more durable and consistent anti-fog effect than saliva. Saliva contains proteins that temporarily reduce surface tension on the lens, but the effect degrades within minutes of water contact and does not survive submersion at depth. Sea Gold is specifically formulated for underwater conditions - the hydrophilic coating remains effective across full dive durations rather than requiring the mask to be flooded and cleared to reactivate the treatment.
Is Sea Gold safe for mask lenses and silicone skirts?
Sea Gold is formulated for use on glass and polycarbonate dive mask lenses and does not damage standard silicone skirt materials. Avoid applying to the exterior of lenses or to coated optics with specific manufacturer care restrictions. For masks with anti-reflective or UV coatings, check the mask manufacturer's care guide before using any chemical treatment on the lens surface.
How should a new mask be prepared before first use?
New masks have a silicone residue from the manufacturing process on the lens surface that prevents anti-fog treatments from adhering effectively. Burn off this residue before first use by applying toothpaste (non-gel, non-whitening) to the lens surface, rubbing with a finger, and rinsing - repeat two or three times. After this preparation, Sea Gold adheres properly and the anti-fog effect performs as expected from the first dive. Skipping this step is the most common reason divers report Sea Gold 'not working' on a new mask.
