Anica Foo –
Generally a good dive computer, Suunto’s D6i is simple and functional. The digital compass is one feature that has been valuable to me.
Sheryl Phua –
What’s the material used in the strap of Suunto D6i? Still leather or have they moved on to a more modern material?
Imran Hanafiah –
Thank you for your review, Sheryl Phua. We’re glad you’re interested in the Suunto D6i Dive Computer. According to our product description, the D6i Elastomer version now comes with a comfortable silicone strap, not leather. This change was made to provide a flexible and durable option for our customers.
Dominic Wong –
I know from other people that Suunto D6i is valued for its ease of use. Can anyone recommend any specific guides or instructions for a total beginner?
Junhao Lo –
Thank you for your review, Dominic. I’m happy to help you with that. At our store, we recommend checking out the Suunto D6i User Guide (available on their official website) for comprehensive instructions and guidance on how to use your Dive Computer, specifically designed for beginners. Additionally, we offer a free online training course on dive computer basics that you can access from our website. We hope this information helps you navigate your Suunto D6i Dive Computer more easily. If you have any further questions, please don’t hesitate to ask.
Xinyi Pang –
Would this wristwatch-style dive computer work well under heavy rain? Would the USB charging port waterproof?
Junhao Lo –
Thank you for your question, Xinyi. The Suunto D6i Dive Computer is designed to be water-resistant and compatible with a range of diving activities. However, it’s not rated for underwater use. For heavy rain, the watch is designed to keep moisture out, but you should still take care to avoid submerging it in water. As for the USB charging port, it is sealed and IP68-rated, meaning it can withstand being submerged in 1.5 meters of water for 30 minutes. We recommend making sure the charging port is fully dry before charging.

Is this model a recent release from Suunto, or an older model and likely to be replaced soon? Was the digital compass a new addition?
Junhao Lo –
Thank you for your question about our Suunto D6i Dive Computer! This model is still a current product from Suunto, not an older model that’s about to be replaced. The digital compass, which is one of our favorite features, was indeed a new addition to the D6i series. It’s a tilt-compensated 3D digital compass that provides accurate bearings and navigation, making it a reliable tool for professional divers. We’re glad to hear you’re pleased with your purchase! If you have any more questions or concerns, feel free to ask.

I’ve been using this dive computer for my last five dives and it works perfectly! The Elastomer strap is a bit stiff but comfortable after a while.
