The NBR (nitrile butadiene rubber) material we use is known for its excellent resistance to chemicals, extreme temperatures, and abrasion. However, as with any rubber component, prolonged exposure to saltwater may still cause slight degradation. Problue AS-568-014 Divers O-ring saved my dive trip. The O-ring fit perfectly to our K valve and provided a snug seal. Minor con: the website didn’t mention that it’s not suitable for high-pressure applications.
