We use a special fabric treatment that helps to lock in the UPF 50+ protection, so you don’t need to worry about it fading after washing. That being said, we do recommend washing the rashguard in cold water to help extend the lifespan of the UPF rating and to keep the fabric in great condition. However, washing in cold water isn’t a permanent solution to maintaining the UPF protection – the treatment is designed to last through multiple washes.
