Siti Nur Arifah –
I tested the product underwater, but I was a bit disappointed at how fragile it seemed compared to what other people have reviewed. Although, the compactness of the device makes it easy to carry. Is the dive alert db-3X the largest when compared to other dive alert product?
Junhao Lo –
Thank you for taking the time to share your review, Siti Nur Arifah. We apologize that the Dive Alert DB-3X did not meet your expectations in terms of durability. Our devices are designed to be compact and lightweight, which may make them appear more fragile. However, we assure you that they are built to withstand regular use under water. As for comparison, the Dive Alert DB-3X is actually one of the more compact designs in our line, but not the smallest. If you have any other concerns or would like more information, please don’t hesitate to reach out.

The safety whistle does not work, but the flashlight on it does. I think this product is really frustrating. Is ‘Dive Alert DB-3X Surface Signaling Device’ durable enough if used in situations with regular crashes?
Junhao Lo –
Dear Shamila, thank you for sharing your concerns about the Dive Alert DB-3X Surface Signaling Device. We’re sorry to hear that the safety whistle is not functioning as expected. However, we appreciate your feedback on the flashlight. As for durability, the Dive Alert DB-3X is designed to withstand regular use, but it’s not meant to withstand extreme or severe crashes. If used in such situations, there’s a risk of damage to the device. We recommend exploring our other products or consulting with our customer support team for further assistance.

Initial installation was super tough, but after going through manual instructions again it was a relatively easy process. Although the product seems pretty durable, after continuous testing, I feel a slight bump in parts. The ease of installation after initial efforts, has improved user engagement with the product significantly.

The new ‘safety whistle’ in dive alert db-3X has been very effective when i tested it underwater. However, i did face some initial difficulty with its easy installation, but after the initial setup, i think it was a simple process. I used it to signal for help at a depth of about 20 meters under the sea, and it was a ‘Life Saver’. Would definitely recommend using Dive Alert as its durable and has made me more confident when diving alone. ? Is it water-resistant for depths beyond 100 feet?
Junhao Lo –
Thank you for sharing your experience with Dive Alert DB-3X Surface Signaling Device, Benjamin! We’re glad to hear that the safety whistle has been effective and made you feel more confident during dives. The device is designed to be water-resistant and can be used underwater, however, the manufacturer guidelines recommend a maximum depth of 66 feet (20 meters) for optimal performance. We can’t guarantee its performance beyond this depth. Would you like to share more about your experience with the product or ask any further questions?

Can i combine the air ii with dive alert in order to make a waterproof GPS System? It was a hit! i could signal for help ‘in the dark’ and had reliable time and date readings on the device because of its internal date and time setting.
Imran Hanafiah –
Thank you for your creative idea, Kenneth! Unfortunately, the Dive Alert DB-3X Surface Signaling Device and the AIR II are designed for different purposes. The Dive Alert DB-3X is meant for surface signaling in emergency situations while diving, whereas the AIR II is an analog diving watch designed for underwater use. While they have some similarities, such as being compatible with diving, they are not designed to be combined into a single unit. However, we’re glad to hear that you’ve had a great experience with the Dive Alert DB-3X and the AIR II separately!

Do the loud bursts of light from dive alert db-3X make it a good ‘flash light’ option? Based on my usage, it has proven to signal for help when i’m underwater. A positive experience overall!
Junhao Lo –
Thank you for sharing your experience with the Dive Alert DB-3X! We’re glad to hear it has been effective in signaling for help underwater. However, the primary function of the DB-3X is for surface signaling and dive safety, not as a flashlight. The loud bursts of light are intended to quickly convey distress signals to other divers or boat operators, rather than providing extended illumination like a flashlight. Thank you for choosing Dive Alert DB-3X for your underwater needs!
