Many swimmers develop a habit of spitting into the goggle cups and rinsing lightly u2014 the protein in saliva creates a temporary anti-fog film similar to commercial solutions. Avoid touching the inner lens surface with fingers, as skin oils break down both the factory anti-fog coating and applied solutions, accelerating the fogging that makes long Malaysian training sessions frustrating.

Children's swimming goggles are sized by the distance between the inner edge of each eye cup, which must match the distance between the eyes without the strap pulling the cups inward to compensate for a frame that is too wide.
