Suited for Malaysian Dive Sites
The Scubapro Tradewind 2.5mm Shorty – Man performs reliably across Malaysia’s premier diving destinations. Whether you’re exploring Tioman’s casual snorkel trails, or venturing to new reefs and wrecks, this wetsuit delivers the warmth, flexibility, and comfort you need on every descent.
Care & Maintenance
- Rinse with fresh water after every dive – short dives still expose the neoprene to salt.
- Hang to dry in the shade; avoid direct sun which stiffens neoprene over time.
- Store loosely; avoid folding tight at the zip or seam lines.
- Replace when the neoprene becomes stiff or the zip no longer seals properly.
Final Verdict
In Malaysia’s warm waters, a shorty is often the smarter choice over a full suit. The Scubapro Tradewind 2.5mm Shorty – Man gives you the coverage you need with the freedom you want – simple, practical, effective.

Lowell Wong –
Hands down, one of the most comfortable wetsuits I’ve ever worn! It keeps me warm and cozy throughout my dives, and the fit is perfect. Not many people have commented on the sturdiness of this wetsuit, but trust me, it really is solid; I didn’t need anything extra to give me confidence in the ocean.

Can anyone confirm if Scubapro’s neoprene material is made with ECO friendly practices?? would like to buy more of their products but want to ensure I’m not harming my local ocean’
Junhao Lo –
Thank you for your thoughtful question, Azlan Chin. At our company, we value transparency and respect for the ocean. Unfortunately, we couldn’t find any information from Scubapro that explicitly states their neoprene material is made with eco-friendly practices. However, Scubapro is known for their commitment to sustainability and conservation. We recommend checking with Scubapro directly for more information about their manufacturing processes and environmental policies. Your concern for the local ocean is commendable, and we appreciate your consideration for the environment when making purchasing decisions. What is the actual LCM of the Scubapro Tradewind’s thickness and fin flexibility?? is it suitable for diving in strong currents?
Imran Hanafiah –
Thank you for sharing your thoughts about our Scubapro Tradewind 2.5mm Shorty. We’re glad to hear that you’re considering this product for diving in strong currents. The actual thickness of the Scubapro Tradewind is 2.5mm, while fin flexibility can vary depending on the manufacturer. However, we can provide general guidance on what might be suitable for diving in strong currents. A thicker wetsuit or shorty, like our 3mm or 4mm options, would generally be recommended for strong currents. A 2.5mm shorty like our Scubapro Tradewind may provide some protection, but it ultimately comes down to personal comfort and handling of the currents. If you have any concerns, we can also offer recommendations for additional safety gear to enhance your dive experience. Would you like to know more about our recommendations?

I originally had a small issue with the wetsuit when it was new – but that would later be solved. On the other hand, when using it generally after an individual 125 dives, I was genuinely not bothered at all. Scubapro has made a ‘unique offering’ that far exceeds its usual line of their other suits I have tried, specifically when considering the financial value you get for your dollar.
Aisha Salleh –
This has become my go-to wetsuit for everyday diving! It keeps me snug and warm in cold water and is so easy to put on and take off. The only thing I don’t like is its somewhat difficult cleanup process after getting salt water stuck all over it

I must say that the Scubapro Tradewind is a solid choice for any scuba diver! As a beginner, I was impressed by its ease of use and flexibility – it’s perfect for warm water diving. The material is soft and comfortable against my skin, and the design allows for a full range of motion. I’ve used it for multiple dives and the fabric has held up well
