Kaique Lim –
Is the rashguard designed to be more breathable, or will I still experience sweating during exercise?
Junhao Lo –
Thank you for your question about the Mares Thermo Guard Long Sleeves Rashguard 0.5mm. The Metalite coating on this rashguard is designed to provide warmth and retain body heat, but it is still a breathable material that will help to prevent overheating. However, as with any watersport rashguard, you may still experience some sweating during exercise. We recommend wearing a wicking base layer underneath the rashguard to help keep you dry and comfortable. I hope this helps, and if you have any further questions, please don’t hesitate to ask! – 2024-08-07T13:45:11
Aiden Lee –
The Mares Thermo Guard Long Sleeves Rashguard has been a lifesaver for me. As a triathlete, I need gear that can keep up with my demanding training schedule. This rashguard delivers excellent performance, comfort, and sun protection. Highly recommended.
Natalie Lee –
Overall, I’m very happy with the Thermo Guard. It’s comfortable, warm, and provides great sun protection. My only minor complaint is that the material can be a bit scratchy at times, but it’s not a major issue for me.
Marcus Wong –
I’ve been using the Thermo Guard for a few weeks now, and I’m impressed with its warmth and sun protection. The material is comfortable against my skin, and the long sleeves provide great coverage for my arms. I’m also happy with the UPF 50+ rating, which gives me peace of mind when swimming or surfing in the sun.

Does the 0.5mm thickness provide sufficient warmth in cold water conditions?
Junhao Lo –
We’re glad you asked about the warmth of our Mares Thermo Guard Long Sleeves Rashguard 0.5mm. While the thickness might vary depending on individual tolerance, many of our customers have found it to be comfortable in temperatures as low as 15°C (59°F) for watersports. However, if you’re planning to dive or swim in colder water, we recommend layering a wetsuit for added warmth. The 0.5mm thickness provides excellent protection from the sun’s UV rays, thanks to its UPF 50+ rating, but for colder water comfort, we’d recommend our thicker Neoprene options.
Carter Ong –
The Mares Thermo Guard Long Sleeves Rashguard has been a disappointment. While the sun protection is excellent, the rashguard itself is prone to chafing and irritation. For the price, I expect a much higher level of quality.
Nathaniel Sim –
Is the Metalite coating durable enough to withstand repeated wear and tear?
Imran Hanafiah –
Thank you for your review, Nathaniel. We’re glad you’re interested in the durability of our Metalite coating. The Metalite coating on our Mares Thermo Guard Long Sleeves Rashguard 0.5mm is designed to be highly resistant to wear and tear, making it suitable for repeated use. It has been tested to withstand various conditions, including exposure to water, sun, and abrasion. While we’ve had great feedback on its durability, your question is a valid one. In fact, we have many customers who wear this rashguard multiple times a week without issue. If, however, you notice any deterioration or concerns about the coating, please don’t hesitate to reach out to us, and we’ll do our best to resolve the issue.

I’ve been looking for a rashguard that can keep me warm in cold water, and the Thermo Guard has definitely met my expectations. The 0.5mm thickness provides the perfect balance of warmth and flexibility. I’ve used it for swimming, kayaking, and even just lounging in the water, and it’s been great every time.

I recently purchased the Mares Thermo Guard Long Sleeves Rashguard for my scuba diving trips, and I must say it’s been a game-changer. The 0.5mm thickness provides the perfect balance of warmth and flexibility. The UPF 50+ sun protection is also a great feature, especially for longer dives.

Has the Thermo Guard been tested for durability under heavy use?
Junhao Lo –
Thank you for your question, Roderick. Our Thermo Guard Long Sleeves Rashguard has undergone rigorous testing to ensure its durability under heavy use. In fact, we’ve had numerous customers and professional water sports athletes wear and review the product, and the feedback has been overwhelmingly positive. While we can’t claim to have put it through every possible scenario, our tests have shown it can withstand repeated wear and tear, including resistance to ripping and snags. That being said, as with any high-quality wetsuit, we do recommend caring for the Thermo Guard properly to maximize its lifespan. If you have any further questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to ask!
Eleanor Chan –
Is the Thermo Guard suitable for triathlon athletes?
Junhao Lo –
Thank you for your review, Eleanor. The Mares Thermo Guard Long Sleeves Rashguard 0.5mm is indeed a great option for triathlon athletes. The Metalite coating provides superior warmth, which is essential for cold-water swimming or open-water swims.
