I’ve always been passionate about underwater photography, and the Scubalamp PV5102SP has been a game-changer for me. It’s incredibly bright, and the battery life is impressive. I’ve used it for hours without needing to recharge.
Jamie Teo –
I’m so disappointed that the charger isn’t included as one of the accessories, considering it’s a major component of the setup. Otherwise, the PV5102SP is great, but it would be perfect if it came with the charger.

I’ve always wanted to shoot my scuba diving with good lighting but struggled to find a reliable light that is also reliable to use underwater. What is recommended to prevent overheating the light when shooting in stagnant waters?
Junhao Lo –
Thank you for sharing your concerns about overheating the Scubalamp PV5102SP Photo/Video Light when shooting in stagnant waters. At Scubalamp, we prioritize the durability and reliability of our products, especially when used in harsh underwater environments. To prevent overheating, we recommend avoiding prolonged use of the light in stagnant waters. If you must shoot in such conditions, please take regular breaks (every 5-10 minutes) to allow the light to cool down. Additionally, ensure that your light is properly maintained, keeping it clean and dry after each use. For added peace of mind, consider investing in a temperature-controlled light housing or a specially designed scuba diving light that allows for efficient heat dissipation. We appreciate your feedback and are always looking for ways to improve our products.

What is the ideal amount of lumen output for someone who is primarily a recreational diver and only occasionally engages in underwater photography? Would you reckon the PV5102SP is any brighter than the similar competing product?
Junhao Lo –
Thank you for taking the time to review the Scubalamp PV5102SP Photo / Video Light. The ideal amount of lumen output for a recreational diver who occasionally engages in underwater photography depends on various factors, such as water depth and visibility. For shallow dives in clear waters, a lower lumen output (around 2000-5000 lumens) might be sufficient. However, for deeper dives or in murkier waters, a higher lumen output like the PV5102SP’s 10000 lumens can be beneficial.
Regarding your question about the PV5102SP being brighter than similar competing products, I can tell you that it’s designed to provide a powerful and focused beam. While the exact brightness of competing products can vary, our PV5102SP is engineered to deliver a high level of lumen output while maintaining a relatively compact and lightweight design. If you have any specific concerns or would like more information, please don’t hesitate to reach out.

Scubalamp PV5102SP is an amazing underwater light, it has excellent lumens that captured stunning photos and videos underwater. However, it did shed off a bit of warmth. That aside, it is incredibly tough and can withstand a pretty rough environment. The charging system is super easy to use, with an included 9050mah battery pack, which definitely gives you enough juice for a whole day of underwater shooting.
Seth Chew –

Overall, I’m really pleased with the Scubalamp PV5102SP Photo/Video Light – 10000 Lumens. It’s well-built, easy to use, and provides excellent illumination for my underwater shoots.
Eugene Koh –
The Scubalamp PV5102SP is without a doubt one of the best additions to my scuba diving gear. The built-in features, I must say, have really elevated my underwater photography game. Using this has undoubtedly produced higher quality images. This is a really good investment. But can it somehow be used to read map while diving?
Junhao Lo –
Thank you for your wonderful review of the Scubalamp PV5102SP Photo / Video Light! We’re thrilled to hear that it has elevated your underwater photography game and produced higher quality images. However, the Scubalamp PV5102SP is designed specifically for lighting underwater scenes and is not intended to be used for reading maps. The light source is too intense and not focused enough to provide clear visibility for reading. If you’re looking for a solution to read maps while diving, we recommend using a dive light with a red light mode or a separate lighting device specifically designed for reading. We hope this information helps and please let us know if you have any further questions!

While this product provides a massive amount of light, I can confirm that I experienced a few moments where my underwater footage went out of focus. Is this an inherent problem or is every Scubalamp PV5102SP user going through this?
Junhao Lo –
Thank you for sharing your experience with the Scubalamp PV5102SP Photo / Video Light. Sorry to hear that you encountered moments where your underwater footage went out of focus. It’s possible that this is related to the lighting system or the camera settings. We recommend checking the user manual and camera settings to ensure optimal performance. Additionally, you can try adjusting the light’s angle or intensity to see if that improves the focus in your footage. If the issue persists, please contact our customer support team so we can assist you further.

Priscilla Tan –
I’m extremely satisfied with the brightness of this Scubalamp PV5102SP! Can someone explain why it’s so significant that it has 10000 lumens?
Imran Hanafiah –
Thank you for your review, Priscilla! The 10000 lumens brightness of our Scubalamp PV5102SP is significant because it provides an incredibly high level of illumination, making it ideal for photography and videography underwater. This is particularly useful in low-light conditions, allowing you to capture stunning visuals that you might otherwise miss. I hope this helps clarify things!
Jessica Low –
I recently got this Scubalamp PV5102SP and have to say it’s been a revelation for my underwater adventures. The build quality feels premium and the light itself is incredibly luminous. One feature I would’ve liked is some sort of mechanism to securely fasten the battery pack in place, which can be a bit annoying when the water is choppy.
Rachel Lee –
Is the Scubalamp PV5102SP durable enough for an underwater dive at 30 meters?
Imran Hanafiah –
Thank you for your question about the durability of our Scubalamp PV5102SP for an underwater dive at 30 meters. The PV5102SP is designed to be a rugged and reliable light, but as with any electronic device, it’s essential to follow proper usage and maintenance guidelines. Our product description mentions a water depth rating of 100m, so the 30m depth you mentioned should be well within a safe operating range. To ensure the longevity of your light, avoid submerging it in water beyond the rated depth, and avoid intense impacts or drops. We’ve also included a 1-year warranty with the purchase of the Scubalamp PV5102SP, which can provide additional peace of mind. If you have any further questions or concerns, feel free to ask. Would other customers like to share their experiences with the Scubalamp PV5102SP?
