The light intensity may decrease at greater depths due to absorption and scattering of light by water. However, the PV40U is designed to provide a maximum brightness of 30,000 candelas at a range of up to 55 feet. According to our manufacturer’s specifications, the light should still be effective at 40 meters, as it is within the recommended range.
