To minimize this risk, we recommend trimming the wick to the recommended length and avoiding exposure to direct sunlight or high temperatures. As for the melt rate, our wax is formulated to perform well within a normal temperature range. While it’s built to be rugged and water-resistant, we don’t recommend using it in freshwater lakes or rivers. This is mainly because the manufacturer doesn’t provide any specific guidance on its usage in freshwater environments.
