Hi, I’m curious to know if anyone has used this regulator with a rebreather system? Any feedback would be great, thanks!
Junhao Lo –
Thank you for your interest in using the Scubapro MK17 EVO 1st Stage Regulator with a rebreather system. While this regulator is primarily designed for use with open-circuit scuba systems, some of our customers have successfully paired it with certain rebreather systems. However, we must emphasize that compatibility can vary greatly depending on the specific rebreather model and configuration. We would recommend consulting the manufacturer’s documentation and discussing with a authorized dealer or rebreather technician before making any modifications or connections. If you could provide more specific information about the rebreather system you’re using, we may be able to offer more tailored advice.

I recently purchased the Scubapro MK17 EVO 1st Stage Regulator – INT 232 and I must say it’s been a game-changer for me! The regulator is extremely durable and performing well in cold water. The balanced diaphragm design ensures precise airflow, which is perfect for deep-sea diving. However, I wish it came with a better storage case.

Although I’m impressed with the overall performance of the Scubapro MK17 EVO, I’ve noticed a slight issue with the regulator’s adjustment mechanism. Still, a minor complaint for an otherwise excellent product.

What’s the difference between this and the MK17 EVO 2nd Stage Regulator? Can someone please explain the benefits of one over the other?
Junhao Lo –
Thank you for your question, Hannah. The Scubapro MK17 EVO 1st and 2nd Stage Regulators are part of the same high-performance line, but they serve different purposes. The first stage regulator (like this MK17 EVO 1st Stage Regulator – INT 232) is responsible for processing the high-pressure air from the tank and reducing it to a safe, lower pressure for the rest of the system. The second stage regulator then further reduces the pressure to a safe breathing level for the diver. To answer your question, one doesn’t necessarily have benefits over the other, but rather they’re separate components that work together to provide a safe and efficient air supply. I hope this clarifies things for you. If you have any more questions, feel free to ask!.

Can anyone please tell me if this regulator is compatible with the Suunto Zoop Novo dive computer? I really want this regulator but don’t know if it’ll work with my current setup.
Junhao Lo –
Thank you for reaching out, Caleb! The Scubapro MK17 EVO 1st Stage Regulator – INT 232 is a high-quality product, but compatibility with other devices is crucial for a seamless diving experience. After researching, I found that the MK17 EVO is compatible with various dive computers, including the Suunto Zoop Novo. However, I would recommend checking the Suunto website or consulting with their customer support to confirm compatibility in detail. Additionally, you may also want to consider consulting with a local dive shop or instructor to ensure a smooth integration with your existing setup.
