Can the Mares EOS 5 Torch be used for non-aquatic purposes, such as camping or hiking?

While the Mares EOS 5 Torch is primarily designed for underwater use, its high-brightness LED light can be useful for various applications outside of water, such as camping or hiking in low-light conditions. However, please note that this torch is not waterproof with the battery cover off and should not be used in high-pressure or high-velocity water applications for non-aquatic purposes.

Thank you for reaching out, Chang Mei Ling. The Mares EOS 5 Torch uses 4 x C123 lithium batteries. These batteries are replaceable but unfortunately not rechargeable. We recommend using high-quality batteries to ensure optimal performance and prolong the life of your Mares EOS 5 Torch. Please refer to the user manual for more information on battery replacement.

The EOS 5 has a more powerful LED with 500 lumens compared to the EOS 4’s 400 lumens. Additionally, the EOS 5 has a longer battery life, with up to 50 hours of use from a single set of batteries, compared to the EOS 4’s 20 hours. Both models share the same ergonomic design and are water-resistant up to 100 meters.
