I recently had the chance to try out the Abyss 22 Navy II Regulator – DIN 300 and I was quite impressed. The regulator is very easy to breathe through and the pressure gauge is very responsive. However, I did experience some minor hesitation in the valve opening and closing during the dive.

Is the Abyss 22 Navy II Regulator – DIN 300 suitable for intermediate divers?
Imran Hanafiah –
Thank you for your question, Kenny. The Mares Abyss 22 Navy II Regulator – DIN 300 is a high-end regulator suitable for advanced divers due to its ergonomic design and durable construction. While intermediate divers can use this regulator, it may not be the best fit for their needs. Intermediate divers typically require a regulator with a simpler design and lower maintenance, making the Mares Ergo Liquidmetal 52 Regulator – DIN a more suitable option. If you’re an intermediate diver considering the Abyss 22 Navy II Regulator – DIN 300, we recommend discussing your options with a local dive shop professional for a personalized recommendation.

I’ve been using the Abyss 22 for a few months now, and I’m really liking it. Can someone elaborate on the importance of DIN 300 compatibility?
Junhao Lo –
Thank you for sharing your experience with the Mares Abyss 22 Navy II Regulator! DIN 300 compatibility is indeed an important aspect of scuba diving regulators. The DIN (Deutsches Institut für Normung) 300 certification ensures that the regulator meets specific safety standards, including maximum working pressures and valve sizes. This compatibility is crucial for safe and reliable diving, especially in international travel where different countries use different standards. I’d be happy to provide more information on this topic! Have you had any experiences with different regulator standards during your diving trips?

Can someone provide a comparison between the Abyss 22 Navy II Regulator – DIN 300 and the Cressi C1 DIN Regulator?
Junhao Lo –
Thank you for considering the Mares Abyss 22 Navy II Regulator – DIN 300! We’d be happy to provide a comparison with the Cressi C1 DIN Regulator. Both regulators are high-quality products designed for scuba diving, but they have some notable differences. The Abyss 22 Navy II has a more robust design and a wider range of features, such as a long-lasting, high-performance pneumatics and a unique regulator orifice design for improved air flow. It also comes with a higher price tag of $1080. In contrast, the Cressi C1 DIN Regulator is a more affordable option, priced around $600. It still offers excellent performance and reliability, but with fewer features. Ultimately, the choice between the two will depend on your specific needs and preferences. If you’re looking for a high-performance regulator with advanced features, the Abyss 22 Navy II might be the better choice. However, if you’re on a budget and still want a reliable regulator, the Cressi C1 DIN is definitely worth considering.
