I’ve had this regulator for a while now and I’m really impressed with its performance. The Mares 22X First Stage – DIN 300 is very reliable and requires very little maintenance. However, I do wish the pressure gauge was a bit easier to read. Anyone know a good way to calibrate the gauge?

In terms of performance, we do notice that the regulator can perform slightly differently in cold water conditions due to the increase in water density. This can cause a slight increase in the regulator’s consumption of air. However, Mares has specifically designed the 22X first stage to provide efficient performance in various water temperatures. To ensure optimal performance in cold water conditions, we recommend checking the regulator’s O-rings for signs of wear and tear, and to always rinse the regulator with fresh water after use to prevent any potential corrosion.

I’m still getting used to the Mares 22X but so far so good. I’ve had it for about a month now and haven’t encountered any major issues. My only complaint is that it can be a bit heavy, but I guess that’s a small price to pay for the quality you get. One question, does anyone know how to maintain the O-rings?
