Yong Liang Tee –
This wetsuit has exceeded my expectations in terms of flexibility and comfort. The blue color is also a nice touch – it’s easy to spot in the water. My only minor complaint is that the sizing could be a bit more consistent.
Lian Xiu Tan –
I’m completely satisfied with the performance of this wetsuit! The 2.2mm thickness provides great insulation and comfort during long dives. My only suggestion is to include a carrying bag for easier transport.
Koh Ming Lee –

Xiao Ming Wong –
What is the exact material used for this wetsuit? I’m looking for something durable and long-lasting.
Imran Hanafiah –
Dear Xiao Ming Wong, thank you for your question about the Mares Manta Shorty Man Blue 2.2mm Wetsuit. According to our supplier, this wetsuit is made from neoprene, a durable and long-lasting material commonly used in wetsuits. Neoprene provides excellent insulation, flexibility, and resistance to water. It’s also eco-friendly and recyclable. We’re confident that this material will meet your expectations. If you have any further questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to ask.
Phoebe Tung –
Can anyone tell me how this wetsuit compares to other brands in terms of quality and price? I’m a bit torn between this one and a different brand.
Imran Hanafiah –
Thank you for considering the Mares Manta Shorty Man Blue 2.2mm Wetsuit! We appreciate your feedback and would be happy to help you compare our product to other brands. While Mares is a well-established brand in the scuba diving industry, the competition in the wetsuit market is fierce. In terms of quality, our wetsuits are designed to be durable and comfortable, making them a great choice for divers who frequent the water regularly. However, other brands may offer similar or even superior quality at a lower price point. It’s also worth considering factors like flexibility, mobility, and insulation when making your decision. We don’t know the specific details of your preferences, but we’d be happy to discuss the differences between our product and others in more detail if you’d like.

Overall I’m really satisfied with the price I paid for the Mares Manta Shorty Man Blue 2.2mm Wetsuit. Even though the instructions were not too detailed, I find that it fits really well and the customer support was responsive.
Christina Tan –
I think this product performed under what was expected as the material wasn’t as fluid as I initially thought.
Elvis Gan –
What are the differences between the 1.5mm and 2.2mm versions of the Mares Manta Shorty? Which one would be a better option for a beginner scuba diver?
Imran Hanafiah –
Thank you for reaching out to us, Elvis Gan. The main differences between the 1.5mm and 2.2mm versions of the Mares Manta Shorty Man Wetsuit are the thickness of the neoprene and consequently the thermal insulation it offers. The 2.2mm version provides better warmth in colder water conditions, making it suitable for diving in spring or autumn. On the other hand, the 1.5mm version would be better suited for warmer water conditions, ideal for a beginner scuba diver who will be diving in tropical waters. Additionally, the 1.5mm version is also lighter and more flexible which can make it easier to move around underwater.
Angeline Chng –
I’ve been using the Mares Manta Shorty Man for months now, and it’s been a game-changer for my scuba diving excursions. The material is so soft and comfortable, making it perfect for warm or tropical waters. I’ve worn it in 2.2mm thickness, which feels just right for my needs.
Jennifer Lim –
How do you personally break in the Mares Manta Shorty to get rid of the stiffness it initially has?
Imran Hanafiah –
Thank you for your question, Jennifer. To break in the Mares Manta Shorty, we recommend gently stretching and flexing the neoprene to increase flexibility and reduce stiffness. It’s also essential to condition your wetsuit with a mild soap and rinse it thoroughly to prevent any lingering odors. For an average user, it may take 2-3 swims to fully break in the wetsuit. Some users also use a technique called ‘board-surfing with neoprene conditioner’ which can help make it feel like they are wearing nothing. Thank you for choosing our Mares products, and we’d love to hear your additional feedback and experience. Kindly reach out to us if you have any more concerns.
