Eleanor Tan –
I recently purchased the Mares Amara Gloves for a scuba diving trip and was extremely satisfied with the results. The 1.5mm neoprene material is surprisingly flexible and provided excellent grip on my dive gear. I also appreciated the double-layered Amara palms and fingers, which helped to improve my overall feel for the boat. One minor complaint is that the Velcro closure could be a bit more secure, but overall I’m very impressed with this product.

Do these gloves provide adequate insulation in colder waters?
Imran Hanafiah –
Hello Helen, thank you for your question about the Mares Amara Gloves. Yes, these gloves are designed to provide insulation in colder waters. The 1.5mm black neoprene material is a good insulator, and the double layer of super resistant Amara on the palms and fingers adds extra protection. Additionally, the adjustable Velcro closure helps ensure a snug fit to prevent cold water from seeping in. Many of our customers have reported using these gloves in water temperatures as low as 50°F (10°C) with good results. I hope this information helps, and please let me know if you have any other questions!

I’ve only used the Mares Amara Gloves for a few dives, but so far, I’m really happy with them. The material feels great, and the double-layered Amara palms and fingers have provided excellent grip. I’m not sure how well they’ll hold up over time, but so far, they’re still looking and feeling great. One thing I’m a bit concerned about is the lack of a wrist seal. For me, this has resulted in some water entering the glove when I’m diving. Not a major issue, but something to consider.
